About This Event

Zonarchs is a fast-paced, interactive strategy game where four teams compete to conquer and control zones on a large board by tactically placing colored coins. Alongside strategic movement, teams unlock powerful zone-specific abilities by completing fun and engaging tasks. The game blends logic, coordination, and quick decision-making in a high-energy format. The ultimate goal? Secure control over the maximum number of zones before time runs out!

Event Rules

Rules and Regulations

  1. Team Composition: 4 players per team.
  2. Game Duration: 10 minutes total
  3. Turn Duration: Each team gets 20 seconds per turn. Delays will result in skipped turns.
  4. Initial Setup: Each team is given 30 coins. Coins are distributed clockwise across territories. A territory is controlled if a team has the coin majority in it. A zone (group of 6 territories) is controlled by owning at least 4 of its territories.
  5. Gameplay: On their turn, a team may either:
    • Empty a controlled territory and redistribute coins clockwise (1 per box).
    • Empty their vault and redistribute its coins similarly. Coins of other teams in an emptied territory are sent to their respective vaults.
  6. Central Zone Conquest: After 3 full board rotations, teams will attempt to collect 4 out of 7 gold coins from the central box. The winning team of the Conquest Round activates a powerful zone superpower.
  7. Zone Superpowers: Each zone has a unique superpower, which can only be used after gaining zone control and completing the associated fun task.
  8. Fair Play & Penalties: Illegal moves (e.g., acting in zones not controlled) lead to loss of turn. Refusal to engage in neutral zones leads to forfeiture of 2 coins to the vault. Misbehavior or argument with referees or other teams may result in disqualification.
  9. Referee’s Decision: All decisions made by the referee, especially regarding fun tasks, are final and binding.

Judging Criteria

  1. Primary Winning Criteria: The team with the highest number of zones controlled at the end of 10 minutes is declared the winner.
  2. Tiebreakers (in order):
    1. - Total number of territories controlled.
    2. - Number of coins in the central box.
